Stewart's caption warmed many hearts as it cleverly referenced her two championships in 2018 and 2020 with her team, the Seattle Storm.
The announcement included a series of photos alongside the cute caption. The snaps perfectly captured the moment Stewart got down on one knee with a ring to propose to her sweetheart.
Clad in casual outfits and running shoes, the love birds looked madly in love as they shared the special moment together in Phoenix, Arizona's Papago Park.
The comments were filled with congratulations from fellow athletes and fans. Stewart's fellow WNBA player Candace Parker and her teammate Sue Bird joined in celebrating the great news.
Xargay, who excitedly said yes to her lady love, is also a basketball player from Spain. She previously played for the Phoenix mercury in 2015 and 2016 before she exited the team.
After such a long time of being away, she is now back in training camp with the Mercury for the first time since her 2016 departure. Interestingly the Storm is set to play the Mercury in a pre-season game at Suns Arena soon.
Apart from Stewart's two unforgettable 2018 and 2020 championships, the two-time WNBA champion is also coming off being named MVP for the EuroLeague and the Russian League, winning championships in both with UMMC Ekaterinburg.
The 26-year-old who is a four-time NCAA champion at UConn is also entering her fifth season in the WNBA. Along with her four championships at UConn, she also got four awards for the most outstanding player in the final four.
